An orthomode transducer (OMT) is an RF waveguide component that separates or combines two orthogonally polarized signals sharing a common waveguide port, commonly used in satellite communications, radar, and radio astronomy systems. OMTs enable simultaneous transmit and receive operation or dual-polarization signal processing while minimizing cross-polarization interference and insertion loss.
